2018 Graduation, Honors, and Awards

Congratulations to our graduating seniors!

- Iman Darwish will be attending medical school at Loyola's Stritch School of Medicine

- Estefany Guzman will be attending Johns Hopkins for her Ph.D. in Chemistry

- Yasmine Payne will be attending medical school at Rush Univeristy's School of Medicine

Thank you for all of your hard work and dedication over the past four years! We wish you the best of luck in all of your future endeavors and remind you that Flanner Hall 217 will always be your home!

 

For the 2018 - 2019 academic year, three of our members were awarded scholarships to fund their research and will present their projects at Loyola's Weekend of Excellence in the spring of 2019.  They are:

Claire Herbert - Mulcahy Scholarship

Elliot Gild - Mulcahy Scholarship

Ademilola Tejuoso - Mulcahy Scholalrship

 

On April 24, 2018, the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry held its annual awards ceremony to recognize the hard work of all its students.  This year, the Becker lab was very well represented:

Iman Darwish - awarded the Father Morrissey Medal, the Chair Recognition Award, and Gold-level Departmental Honors

Yasmine Payne - served as the Graduating Senior Speaker and was awarded Silver-level Departmental Honors

Claire Herbert - awarded the Analytical Chemistry Award and the Louis Glunz Family - Regis Scholarship (includes a summer internship at Regis Technologies, Inc.)

Michael Serwetnyk - awarded the Mode Scholarship

Ademilola Tejusoso - awarded the junior-level Father Morrissey Medal

Xhulio Arolli - awarded the Cassaretto Scholarship
